At Related, idea generation is highly prioritised – both internally and in collaboration with our clients. The reason for this is that we believe it is necessary to think creatively and innovatively in a media landscape that is constantly changing.
 
Everybody talks about creativity and innovation. But often it does not move beyond talking about it. At Related, we put action behind the words. 
 
Among other things, we have written it into our prerequisites for our organisation and our work. We study and develop the area continuously, and we have designated a creative coordinator who works to ensure that we look at every single possible idea. 
 
These initiatives are meant to ensure that we remain a proactive PR agency in the future.
 
Our idea process 
If you want your organisation to exist and work within an overcrowded media image, innovation is a necessity. The digital possibilities are constantly growing, and this is changing the rules of the game of good PR. If you merely do things as you use to, it is hard to get your messages out and reach your target group.

Good ideas to content, form and choice of channel is critical. Therefore, we have developed a process for systematically finding and developing good ideas – also when they are not obvious. 

The process combines the best of several idea techniques, such as brainstorms, controlled associations and much more.

Additionally, we have invested in different props to give inspiration and to help us see completely new solutions. But the most important thing is that we have created a mutual language.

When ”no” is a bad word 
We have divided the creative work into two phases; an open phase where the goal is to generate as many ideas as possible without sorting them, and a closed phase where we criticise and evaluate the ideas.

It is crucial that there is a clear division between the two phases, because you will obstruct the creative process if you censor and criticise all ideas in the moment they arise. 

We use our idea process both internally and externally in interaction with our clients. The easily understood process means that everybody can participate and that every good idea is shared. 

And they must be shared, because good ideas are absolutely necessary in a world where creative and targeted PR is more important than ever before.
