Building Relations at the CeBIT 2012 Computer Expo
At this year’s CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, one of the world’s largest computer expos, thousands of companies filled the exhibition halls. Related’s IT and Technology team has returned with updated knowledge and inspiration. Not to mention numerous new relations.

CeBIT 2012 is one of the world’s largest digital exhibitions with well in excess of 300,000 visitors. It takes place annually in March in the German city of Hannover. Throughout a five-day period, companies looking for new business ventures and networking opportunities, members of the press, and tech-craving consumers visit the packed exhibition halls.

This year, Related also took part in the fair with the purpose of updating our industry knowledge. We also nurtured existing relations as well as developed entirely new relationships. We experienced great interest from companies looking to penetrate the Nordic markets which saw the advantage of applying Related as their lead agency.

Seven million business conversations
We had numerous business conversations, and we were not alone in enjoying this opportunity. According to figures from the organizers of the trade fair, Deutsche Messe AG, as much as seven million business conversations took place during the expo.

The IT companies ESET, Targus, and SteelSeries, which Related represents, were also present as exhibitors. The keynote theme was “Managing Trust”, which is a central issue when considering entrusting an external service provider with the storage of one’s sensitive data. Translated into more technical terms, IT security in a cloud computing context was one of the main focus areas of this year’s trade fair.
