New system for issuing press releases
At Related we recently decided to change our procedure for issuing press releases.

In future we will use a new system that makes it possible to see who, and which media, has opened a press release. This makes us better able to evaluate and compare our press releases and to optimise our follow-up telephone calls. This will all be used actively to make ongoing adjustments and optimisations for future press releases and activities.

Get the journalists to your website
With the new system it’s only the headline and the lead as well as the sender’s logo that appears in the email itself – the rest of the story the journalist will have to click his way to through a link in the email. In this way only interested journalists have the entire story presented to them, and it becomes possible to register who clicks on to the story.
A web version of the press release is generated automatically, but if the press release is also on the client’s website we can now direct journalists there to read the story – and that might tempt them to click further through the client’s universe.

Larger images – fewer megabytes
A lot of journalists are irritated by press releases with large attached files filling up their inboxes. But with the new system images and other attachments are no longer in the email; instead they are available through links. This means that the emails themselves hardly take up any space at all, and there are no longer any limits to the size of the files you can attach to your press release. In this way you can send out high resolution images with your press release so journalists don’t have to contact your company directly or find and download images from the company’s press room or gallery themselves when they need images for printed media.
