Record high number of co-operation agreements signed at the WTM London
On the 4th of November, Related was in London, as this year’s World Travel Market (WMT) – one of the world’s largest tourism and travel fairs, was launched. With more than 50,000 people attending from all over the world and more co-operation agreements signed than ever before, the event was a huge success. So heading home with new relationships, Related got what they came for.

The Excel Exhibition Center in London sat the stage for a four-day travel fair with focus on inspiration, experiences and new co-operation agreements. Related brought home a lot of new knowledge about tourism and a number of new relations to the benefit of both present and future customers.

50,000 guests – five percent more than in 2012 – had gathered to strengthen the acquaintance with the intention to spot the coming year’s trend development and negotiate new agreements. It is estimated that there have been signed agreements for more than two billion pounds this year– the highest amount ever.

Related had during the travel fair in London the opportunity to greet our partners in Tourism Trademark – an international network of communications agencies with expertise within the tourism industry.
The agencies, who gather four times a year, share knowledge and exchange experiences regarding the tourism industry.

-Tourism is a large business area in Related and therefore we were of course present at this mecca for travel enthusiasts and professionals in the industry. WTM London is a great meeting place in order to nurture our strong customer relationships and meet new potential international customers, says Henrik Koch, Managing Director in Related.

The whole world centered in London
As one of the largest travel fairs, the WTM London gathers all parts of the travel industry. As an example, African and Latin-American countries and remote nations in the Pacific Ocean were showing interesting exhibitions containing exotic colors which created visual attraction to awaken the wanderlust.

Optimism in the travel industry
Related was also taking part in the WTM events where they heard about the latest new insights, knowledge and trends in the tourism industry. Optimism was clearly present.

According to a study by the British travel market, 89 percent of the British travel providers were optimistic and 27 percent were in fact very optimistic about the coming years’ travel activity. This is largely due to the rising global economy and that the unemployment rate is decreasing in several countries.

The increasing optimism is well received in Related and it will be interesting to see which new projects 2014 will bring.
