Experiencing the good stories of Southwest Jutland
Christina and Hanna have just been on a product knowledge trip to Southwest Jutland to learn about the destinations many vacation areas. After three days with Wadden Sea tapas, cozy city walks, royal overnight stay and beautiful nature experiences, Hanna and Christina returned to the office filled with new knowledge and inspiration for future press activities.

Related’s client portfolio contains several foreign and exotic holiday destinations, but in Denmark there is also holiday jewels to visit. One of them is Southwest Jutland, a cooperation between the municipalities Tønder, Varde, Esbjerg and Fanø. To learn more about the destination and what it has to offer, Christina and Hanna went on a product knowledge trip to the area.

Beautiful nature experiences
The first day was spent at the west coast, where the new digital welcome center in Esbjerg was paid a visit followed by the popular holiday house areas Blåvand and Henne. During their walk around the areas, they had to stop more than once to enjoy the view from either a hilltop or a lighthouse.

The informative Wadden Sea Centre, soon to be expanded, was also paid a visit before Hanna and Christina checked in at Henne Mølleå seaside hotel after a walk in the area around Filsø. The seaside hotel, tucked away in the sandy dunes, was designed by Poul Henningsen (PH) and the hotel oozed of history and holiday spirit.

Citywalk in Ribe and royal overnight stay
After a good night’s sleep, Christina and Hanna got to experience  the oldest town in Denmark, Ribe, where a local guide told them stories from the impressive and long history of Ribe. After lunch in Ribe, the trip continued to the small island of Rømø, where the wide beaches, despite the autumn weather, were impressing the two employees from Related.

From Rømø they went on from the coast to the idyllic Møgeltønder and on their way they got the pleasure of experiencing the phenomena “grey sun” which is the enormous migration of grey goose. At Schakenborg Slotskro close to the castle with the same name, two cozy rooms with royal names awaited the worn out guests. A wonderful menu was served with anything from oysters and fish to pumpkin soup and pork specialties.

The oldest market town in Denmark
The last day in Southwest Jutland was spent in Tønder, which is the oldest market town in Denmark. A guide told about the history and the heydays of the city. As the perfect ending a lunch was consumed at a local café in Tønder serving a popular tapas plate with Wadden Sea theme including anything from Fanø salmon and small shrimps to local butcher specialties and cheeses.

After this trip, Christina and Hanna returned to the office in Vejle with their stomachs full of specialties and their heads full of histories and inspiration for future press activities.
