Press trip to Slavonia in Croatia
Related recently invited 7 journalists on a press trip on behalf of the Croatian National Tourist Board in order to emphasize the potential of Slavonia, a part of Croatia that is still unknown to the majority of Danish tourists.

Focus on new holiday destination
Many Danes have already discovered the beautiful vacation areas like Istria and Kvarner Bay in Croatia. But the country has much more to offer than just beach holidays, so the Croatian National Tourist Board wanted to bring the central part of Croatia more into focus as a holiday destination. 

“We decided to organize a press trip for a selected group of journalists that could present the new holiday destination to their readers. The trip was organised so all journalists got the necessary information to write a relevant article targeted at their magazines. This resulted in seven very different articles derived from the same press trip”, explains PR manager Mia Nielsen from the Croatian National Tourist Board.

Exposure increases demand
Press trips result in a series of reliable eyewitness portrayals of a destination in selected magazines and newspapers – and it is very obvious that it works.

“Through our function as secretariat for the Croatian National Tourist Board we are in contact with many tourists each day, who are interested in visiting different parts of Croatia. And without a doubt there has been an increase in people wanting to know more about the central parts of Croatia after they have been given exposure in well-known magazines and newspapers”, says Mia Nielsen.
