Successful roadshow brought paradise to the North
Last week, the four Nordic capitals hosted a successful roadshow for Visit Maldives. The Nordic tour operators got the opportunity to meet with hotels and DMC’s from the Maldives and at the same time learn more about the beautiful paradise destination.

Related recently coordinated an exotic roadshow in the four Nordic capitals. The goal was to inspire the Nordic travel agencies and tour operators and inform them about the Maldives as a travel destination. Between 40-50 participants showed up in each capital to meet with Visit Maldives and the Maldivian DMC’s and hotels that were represented at the event. In Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm Emirates participated as airline partner.

Breath-taking location
Related had chosen breath-taking locations such as the National Aquarium Denmark in Copenhagen and Fjärilshuset in Stockholm to create the right mood. In Oslo, the guests were invited to Grand Hotel Oslo while a sand covered floor created the perfect exotic and “beachy” feeling in Helsinki.
 
The workshop’s program was different in each city. In Helsinki, the participating tour operators could dream themselves away to the Maldives’s white and sandy beaches while mingling around barefooted in flip-flops with Visit Maldives’ logo which they received at the entrance. 
 
A tropical aperitif was served at all the events. Afterwards, the Deputy Managing Director of Visit Maldives, Mohamed Adam, started by presenting the Maldives possibilities as a travel destination and finally, exhibitors and participants got the chance to discuss products and possibilities of cooperation together.
 
Speed dating for the travel industry
Each exhibitor had a table with room for around 10 people. This way, the participants could visit the exhibitors – who each had prepared a 10 minutes presentation – almost like speed dating. After the presentations, the exhibitors and participants got the chance to meet individually before they were served exotic dishes. In Copenhagen Meyers Kitchen provided the food.
 
In Stockholm and Copenhagen, several of the participants had signed up for a guided tour in Fjärilshuset or the National Aquarium Denmark. The guided tours were in honor of the occasion focusing on the Maldivian underwater life. After an informative day filled with impressions, most of the guest enjoyed the free bus transfer back to the city center.
